At the halfway stage in the season, Haddenham A comfortably lead the Premier Division, having strengthened their position with a 9 – 1 win at Quainton A who are equal fourth with Sports A. Ben Davies had one success for Quainton against Darren Palmer. Whilst Bierton are second they lost a little ground when Sports A inflicted an 8 – 2 defeat, courtesy of a fine maximum from Steve Buck. Alan Cherry won Bierton’s points, but Sports now have a match in hand and will want a strong second half of the season to contest the title with Haddenham. At the bottom of the Division Bellingdon moved ahead of Bucks CC A with an 8 – 2 win when they met. Lee Rogerson and Stuart Brown were unbeaten with Keith Slipper winning once.

With the result of the key battle between Quainton and Ridgeway still to come, Tring A slid effortlessly into a 13 point lead in Division One. Les Ferguy and, top of the averages Graham Smith, had maximums against Sports D with Colin Sturges winning twice. Tim Sallis managed one win for bottom team, Sports and Bill McCafferty made Graham Smith work hard before losing 6 -11 in the fifth set. Elsewhere, Lee Mallick continued his good form winning all his games against Haddenham D, but his team, Haddenham C, could only draw for the fifth time this season. Mark Penn and John Cripps completed doubles for the D Team. Paul O’Connell had a timely return to form winning three games for Bucks CC C in their 6 – 4 defeat of their D Team. Paul Rickard won twice for the D Team inflicting a rare defeat on Iain Willcocks who also won twice.

In Division 2 Tring D overhauled leaders Rivets with a 7 – 3 victory. Mark Luscombe continued his unbeaten run and was assisted by Rose Luscombe’s two victories. Tring B continued to climb up the division reaching third spot with an emphatic 10- 0 win against Sports F. Lowly Sports E scrambled a draw with Bucks CC E.

Division 3 leaders Bucks CC G consolidated their position with a 10 – 0 win at shorthanded Elmhurst Juniors. A maximum from leading player David Stevens could not prevent Risborough B from losing 4 – 6 at Quainton C but it was sufficient to lift them to second place. Elmhurst juniors showed their other face with an 8 – 2 win at Tring F thanks to a maximum from Will Shackleton who was supported by 2 wins each from Jake Davis and Nathan Ball.
