Isobel Ashley, from Chesterfield, was the star at what could be the last Derby Junior from the Moorways Centre.  The event, which has been held at the venue since 1979 is in need of a new home for next season.  One possible venue is the Velodrome being built alongside the Derby County football ground but obviously costs will loom high in any decision making for 2015.

However, despite the impending venue difficulties, local girl Ashley won the Junior Girls title by beating Denise Payet in the final. Payet herself had a good weekend – winning the Cadet Open and Under 13s tournaments in conjunction with her Junior final.
