Lithuanian star Egle Adomelyte doubled up her success from the opening World Championships of Ping Pong qualifier at BATTS by triumphing again as the tournament headed to Draycott for the second installment.

Unlike BATTS, however, this time Adomelyte did suffer defeat in her group to Richard Hutchinson who took over the top seeding slot for the knockout stages. Hutchinson, from Suffolk, actually had his own run ended early in a surprise last 16 defeat to Nottinghamshire’s Craig Feargrieve 15-7. 6-15, 15-8.

With Adomelyte securing her place in the final on the other half of the draw following victories over Russell King, Paul Worallo and Matt Ware, it was left to Luke Walsh to book the slot in the top half – amazingly creating a repeat of the final from BATTS just two weeks earlier.

And, just like their previous meeting, Adomleyte came out on top once more with a 15-10, 15-8, 7-15, 15-6 victory to extend her perfect tournament record to two wins from two.

The next two WCPP Qualification tournaments take place in Oldham (26th July) and Swerve (2nd August), entry forms for those can be found below.
