Rising table tennis stars aged 11-16 are invited to the Charles Read Academy & Grantham College Table Tennis Academy open day.

The open training session is from 1-4pm on Saturday February 9 and will showcase what the programme has to offer.

Charles Read Academy, based just outside Grantham, has a strong link with Grantham College Table Tennis Academy, and provides education and training for 11-to-16-year-old players.

The Grantham College Table Tennis Academy has been running for 17 years, providing a dedicated training centre where they can study, alongside playing up to 20 hours per week.

Former International players who have come through the programme include, David McBeath, Craig Bryant, Matt Ware, Yolanda King, Evie Collier, Callum Evans, Emily Bolton, Matt Leete and Joe Clark.

The programme offers:

  • 8 sessions a week table tennis training
  • Opportunities to play with the best England international junior players along with overseas internationals
  • Expert coaching from a repertoire of coaches who have achieved world, European and countless national titles
  • Full accommodation which includes everything an athlete needs
  • Transport and coaching at selected competitions

The programme has produced the last three National Junior champions and was represented by seven players at the Junior National Cup ion 2018, including both undefeated champions, Shayan Siraj and Mollie Patterson.
