A total of 33 up-and-coming young players have been named in Table Tennis England’s expanded 9-13 and Hopes Squad.

Following a successful pilot of the 9-13s last season, the youngest squad in the England pathway has been extended to add a Hopes element.

The members were selected following an application process, after which players were invited to an assessment day at the University of Nottingham.

Table Tennis England’s Youth Programme Manager Matt Stanforth said: “Following the successful pilot last year, we are putting more focus on developing young players and we’ve created a new Hopes element to look at younger players and earlier starters.

“We’ll be focusing on the four England trademarks: Serve and receive, attack and defend, both wings and fitness.”

The squad will attend regular training camps with Matt Stanforth and Performance Coach Alan Cooke, plus additional coaches.

The squad is: Inara Ahmed, Katie Bates, Francesco Bonato, Louis Cheung-Turner, Naomi Coker, Joseph Cooper, Adam Dennison, Joseph Dennison, Cameron Driver, Connie Dumelow, Bethany Ellis, Sam Gabriel, Georgios Gerakios, Anna Green, Connor Green, James Hamblett, Jake Haygarth, Joseph Hunter, Sienna Jetha, Isabelle Lacorte, Shem Lejarde, Oliver Maric-Murray, Ben Mold, Jenson Moreno, Charlie Nabarro, Thomas Palmer, Jakub Piwowar, Kacper Piwowar, Ben Poulter, Max Radiven, Sophie Richardson, Nathaniel Saunders, Abraham Sellado.
