Luke Savill will be part of the England squad in Bratislava

England are sending a 10-strong team to the European Youth Championships in Slovakia next month.

Helshan Weerasinghe, Tom Jarvis, Sam Mabey and Luke Savill will compete in the Junior Boys’ event, Tin-Tin Ho, Maria Tsaptsinos and Lois Peake in the Junior Girls and Alex Ramsden, Harry Dai and James Smith in the Cadet Boys.

The tournament, in Bratislava from July 10 to 19, features team, singles and doubles competitions.

The doubles pairs are Weerasinghe & Jarvis in Junior Boys, Tsaptsinos and Ho in Junior Girls and Ramsden and Dai in Cadet Boys. Weerasinghe & Ho, plus Jarvis & Tsaptsinos, form mixed doubles pairs.

Table Tennis England is targeting top-18 finishes in the team event and last-16 or better in singles and doubles.

Table Tennis England’s Head of Coaching & Performance, Simon Mills, said: “Our selection policy set down tough criteria and we believe the athletes we have selected have the capability to meet those targets.”
