England’s Junior Boys were beaten 3-2 by Poland in their final group match at the European Youth Championships, but still went through as group winners.
Tom Jarvis won his two matches but England were edged out as both Luke Savill and Josh Bennett lost matches 3-2.
But England finished top of the pool ahead of France and go through to the next stage.
The Cadet Girls’ team of Charlotte Bardsley and Megan Gidney were beaten by Czech Republic and finished third in their group.
