Sam Walker is in line for a top ITTF award – and YOUR vote can help him to win it.
The Worksop ace is one of five players in line for the Star Point award, part of the 2016 ITTF Star Awards.
He was nominated for an amazing 27-shot rally which he won on his way to defeating Japan’s Yuya Oshima in the World Team Championships semi-finals in March.
It helped to propel him to what was the biggest victory of his career at the time against the then world No 20, as England returned from Kuala Lumpur with that amazing bronze medal.
Sam is up against some heavyweight opposition, including Olympic champions Ding Ning and Fan Zhendong of China, plus Japan’s Jun Mizutani and Yang Haeun of Korea.
The five rallies have been selected as the best from the ITTF’s flagship events this year.
The award winner will be decided by a public vote ahead of the presentation ceremony in Qatar on December 8. (NB, voting now closed!)
You can also vote for the male and female stars of the year at the same link – voting closes on November 13.
