Table Tennis England Chairman Sandra Deaton has been elected to the ITTF Board of Directors.
Sandra topped the vote of 14 candidates to become one of seven European representatives to the international federation.
Also elected were Heike Ahlert, Dorte Darfelt, Sonja Grefberg, Zdenko Kriz, Jörgen Persson and Cristinel Romanescu.
Four of the seven representatives are women and they will all serve a four-year term.
Sandra said:
“I’m delighted to have been elected to represent Europe on the ITTF Board of Directors and I look forward to helping to shape the future development of the sport around the world.
“More than a personal accolade, I feel this is a vote of confidence in Table Tennis England as a whole, the great strides we have made on and off the table in recent years and a recognition of what we have to offer.”
Sandra also remains as Youth Committee Chairman of the European Table Tennis Union.
The announcements were made during the European Championships in Budapest, where Ronald Kramer was re-elected as President of the ETTU.
