Britain’s Olympic trio will be back on England duty at the European Championships in Budapest next month.

Paul Drinkhall, Liam Pitchford and Sam Walker will swap Team GB kit for the Three Leopards as they look to further their growing reputations on the international stage.

Kelly Sibley and Tin-Tin Ho will also be heading to Hungary to compete at the Championships, which run from October 18 to 23 and feature singles and doubles competitions.

Drinkhall & Pitchford will play in the men’s doubles, while Walker will partner Hunor Szocs of Romania. In the mixed doubles, Drinkhall will play alongside Sibley and Pitchford and Ho will rekindle their Commonwealth Games silver medal-winning partnership.

As well as the Championships squad, Table Tennis England has named the line-ups for the first matches of the European Team Championships Qualifying campaign.

Karina Le Fevre will join Sibley and Ho for the away match against Olympic silver medallists and reigning European champions Germany on Tuesday September 27, while Drinkhall, Pitchford and Walker will take on Greece in Stoke on Tuesday November 1.

Table Tennis England Head of Talent & Performance, Simon Mills, said:

“We’re particularly excited about the qualifying matches, which will give our men’s team the chance to build on their recent achievements.

“Our women had some good results at the World Championships earlier this year and will also be looking to build on that – and to test themselves against the European champions.

“It’s also great for home crowds to be able to cheer on our best players.”

Tickets are on sale for the England versus Greece match in Stoke, and also for the women’s first home match, against Slovenia in Gillingham on Tuesday November 22.
