The Cheshire Closed Table Tennis Championships were held at Halton Table Tennis Centre, Select Security Stadium, Widnes.

Cadet Harry Watson won four Junior titles and was runner-up in Senior Doubles and Senior Restricted. Olivier Barthelemy from Warrington won three senior events.

In the Men’s Singles, Ryan Lunn of Halton defeated Aaron Beech from Ellesmere Port /Chester League in an exciting Men’final which brought the hall to a standstill. Lunn went into a two-game lead (5, 9) but lost the next two -10 and -9. In the fifth, Lunn Ryan came through to win 11-9.

However, he then lost his Junior title to Watson over four games (11-7, 8-11, 15-13, 11-5), running out of steam.

In the Cadet final, Watson had a 3-0 victory over another improving player, Ryan Makin. The Junior Restricted, with a big entry, was won by the improving Callum Tizzard from Crewe over Anais O’Connor Halton (4, 8, 6).
