Several of last year’s champion squads will be looking for a repeat performance at the 2016 Butterfly English Schools’ Table Tennis Association National Finals in Hinckley today.

Among them are the Under-19 Girls from King Edward VI Community College in Totnes, who will face the challenge of Bradford Grammar School, Harefield Academy and Wickersley School & Sports College from Rotherham.

Wickersley will be going for an Under-19 double as they are also in the Under-19 Boys’ event, against Altrincham Grammar, Bushey Academy and London Academy.

In the Under-16 age group, Lancaster Girls’ Grammar are defending their title against Burlington Danes Academy from Hammersmith, Okehampton Community College and West Kirby Grammar from the Wirral.

The corresponding boys’ event will have new winners – from between Coleridge Community College, Cambridge, Morpeth School, St Mary’s College in Hull and Whitgift School, Croydon.

The Under-13 Girls’ sees Bournemouth School for Girls, Bradford Grammar, Gloucester High School for Girls and South Hunsley competing for the title, while the boys’ event entrants are from London Academy, Longfield Academy in Darlington, St Mary’s College, Hull, and Tanbridge House from Horsham.

Fox Primary are defending their Under-11 Girls’ title against Barnes Primary, Enmore C of E Academy, Great Wood Primary (Morecambe) and Victoria Dock Primary (Hull).

In the Under-11 Boys’ competition, the four contenders are Ashburnham Primary (Chelsea), Bramley Sunnyside (Rotherham), Lincroft (Oakley, Beds) and The Park (Bournemouth).
