Fakenham & District Table Tennis League recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary with a social evening at the Gallows Sports Centre in Fakenham.

Just over 50 people attended and many of these have played or are still currently playing in the league. It was pleasing to see four players who had played in the opening season, namely Dennis Chamberlain, Pat Johnson, Barry King and Ted Barnes – with both Pat and Dennis still playing in the league.

To recognise his achievement of playing in every season of the Fakenham League since 1965, Pat was presented with a engraved glass tankard by chairman Andy Marsh.

Thank you to the local businesses and individuals who kindly donated raffle prizes for the event (Bribar Table Tennis, W.J.Aldiss, Papworth Butchers, Langham Glass, Fakenham Racecourse, Fakenham Sports & Fitness Centre, Morrisons, Tesco, Simon Rayner, Andy Marsh, Ben Andrews, Steve Hales).

The Fakenham Table Tennis League is a small and friendly League but still competitive and suitable for any age from 10 years upwards. If anyone is interested in playing in the league please contact Andy Marsh 01328-830178 or visit www.tabletennis365.com/fakenham
