The Royal Air Force Table Tennis Association was delighted to be presented with a £10,000 cheque by David Spencer-Percival of Spencer Ogden Energy.

The founder sponsor of the RAF Table Tennis Academy seven years ago, donations from Spencer-Percival (known as DSP) have now totalled over £27,000 and the Academy has progressed from strength to strength.

The Academy was created to run development and training for RAF personnel who wished to improve their ability with the ultimate aim of being selected to represent the RAF at the Inter Services Championship against Army and Navy competitors.

This latest donation will generate coaching and development opportunities for up to 30 RAF players over the next three years, under the supervision of chief coach and former national champion Alison Broe.

The success of the sponsorship is evident, with all but one member of the current Inter-Service Squad having received Academy coaching.

With the constant turnover of personnel, the need to continually bring on new competitors is critical and this could not be achieved without the exceptional support and donations from Spencer Ogden Energy.
