We want to know about your experiences and feedback on playing table tennis outdoors!

Ping! is the innovative project that attracted over 30,000 people to try table tennis in London during the summer. Click on the link below to find out more about the project and discover other places to play table tennis.

Table Tennis England has placed 47 permanent outdoor table tennis tables in parks and open spaces in London as part of a pilot project aimed at investigating and promoting new participation opportunities in this accessible and enjoyable Olympic and Paralympic sport.

Funded through Sport England and the Table Tennis England whole sport plan, 24 park sites have been assessed and selected to host a table(s). The pilot will show up what works best in terms of table type, location, surface, bat and ball provision and maybe even find solutions to overcome the great British weather!

Typical sites for tables include waiting areas such as next to tennis courts, cafes and play areas preferably all with good footfall.
Evaluation of usage, durability etc will be carried out by personnel from the London boroughs with a view to providing evidence of success of the activity to be able to make the case to roll out outdoor table tennis to other areas of England including sites such as motorway services, pub gardens, sports clubs, hospital grounds, housing estates etc.

For comparative purposes, Tables have been purchased from a number of different suppliers and will be installed in the following London boroughs: Greenwich, Islington, Hackney, Newham, Southwark and Westminster.
