Do you know any unsung heroes of table tennis who deserve some recognition? If so, we want to hear about them.

Table Tennis England is searching for potential nominees to put forward for a Torch Trophy Trust Award.

So we are asking for nominations from the table tennis family for any individuals who have given up their time for a number of years to enable others in the community to play, or anyone who has made a significant contribution to the grassroots of the sport and has received no previous national recognition.

If you know of someone who falls into one of those categories, please download the form below and fill it in.

It can then be emailed to Table Tennis England Executive Assistant & General Secretary Rob Sinclair ([email protected]) by the closing date of November 30th.

The Torch Trophy Trust will evaluate nominees during December and the awards will be presented to 20 deserving winners across the sports landscape at a ceremony in March next year.

And the ceremony is certainly set to be a glittering occasion – the awards have been presented by a member of the royal family every year since 1980, while the trust president, Sir Bobby Charlton, also attends.

The Torch Trophy Trust was founded in 1962 to recognise outstanding achievement and provide support to hardworking volunteers in sport. Its day-to-day support has been provided by the Sport and Recreation Alliance since 1999.

As well as commemorating their achievements, it offers bursaries to individuals to enable them to develop their skills.
