Greenhouse are currently recruiting more volunteers to join their set-up.
They are looking to strengthen their team of coaches who deliver high-quality table tennis sessions to young people living in some of the most disadvantaged areas of London.
Those who join will have the opportunity to engage with participants and make a real impact on young people’s lives.
Phil Walker, volunteer coach at Raine’s Foundation Table Tennis programme said: “Working with Greenhouse has given me the experience to deliver coaching sessions and interact with all ages and multi cultural groups of young people.
“I enjoy being part of a great team of professional coaches that care enormously about every Greenhouse child.
“Greenhouse have also encouraged my personal development through workshops and ongoing support. I am now taking my UKCC level 2 which Greehouse are sponsoring.”
Angus Warren, volunteer coach at Morpeth, said: “It’s great to be a part of a scheme that helps kids realise their potential in such an inspiring way.
“Of course they get fantastic sports coaching they couldn’t otherwise access but beyond that they are also learning social and emotional skills and developing resilience and maturity.
“I am learning new skills myself and getting to meet lots of interesting people who are passionate about what they. I have found Greenhouse to be an incredibly friendly and welcoming organisation and I’d strongly recommend it to anyone looking to volunteer, help kids and have fun.”
There also benefits to volunteering – those who join the team have access to numerous recognised training courses as well as the possibility to gain sport-specific qualifications. Greenhouse can reimburse all out of pocket expenses and provide training kit.
