National Table Tennis Day – Thursday 17th July 2014
This year for the first time ever, Table Tennis England and Sing London are working together to launch National Table Tennis Day on Thursday 17th July 2014.
This summer, we’re planning a nationwide event to challenge clubs, schools, businesses, table tennis players, fans and the general public to get your paddles out and celebrate our sport with a series of spectacular events of your own invention!
Table tennis is a game that can be played anywhere, at any time, by anyone and we want to foster that concept by creating a dynamic mass participation day to engage budding ‘ping-pongers’ across the country in running their own competitions in conjunction with the various Ping! 2014 Launch sites being held in 15 cities during an explosive 24 hours for English table tennis.
Whether you host an open day, take your tables outside, try fancy dress, bat and table designs, trick shots, a teacher versus pupils challenge or even have a go at a Guinness World Record we want you to get involved with any table tennis-related activity you can think of and inform us of your plans for this special day.
As well as your own competitions we invite you to test your creative side and enter our events for the chance to win an outdoor ping pong table!
There are five categories to have a go at; highest game above sea level, lowest game below sea level, most extreme or intriguing table location, most inventive table, bat or ball design and best dressed table or players. Entry details for these tournaments will be made available soon on this web page.
