Abdel-Kader Salifou (WR 101) and Thomas Le Breton (WR 189) have both confirmed their attendance at the Heritage Oil Open along with countryman Gerome Bahuaud.
Salifou’s superb performances which led to him winning World Pro Tours in Morocco, Egypt and Croatia last season came to an abrupt halt when he met David McBeath at K2 last season, with McBeath coming out 3-1 winner.
It marked the beginning of a steady journey of improvement for McBeath, which has seen him beat Jon Persson (WR 108) of Sweden at the Hungarian Open and recently win his maiden Grand Prix in London.
The French contingent also includes Alice Abbat (No 6 in France), Agnes Le Lannic (No 7) and Sarah Berge (No 13), all of whom will fancy their chances in the women’s singles.
Entry is full with the exception of the Junior and Cadet events on the Friday 4th July. The organisers have taken the decision to reduce the admin charge for youngsters playing just the Friday to £6.80 + £5 per event.
Spectator entry is free at K2 on Saturday 5th July 2014 which is when the early rounds are due to be played. TV camera crews will be present on both the Saturday and Sunday.
The semi-finals and finals will be played at BT Sport studio on the evening of Monday 7th July (5.30-9.30pm) and will be recorded for a highlights programme which will be broadcast on Saturday 12th July (2pm-4pm) on BT Sport. Please support the event in whichever way you can.
