As 2012 arrives the race for the British League Premier Division gains momentum as it’s countdown to the play-offs in May 2012.

With the Christmas weekend of fixtures usually affected by holidays, party commitments and last-minute shopping treks, it was surprising to see a high turnout from all the players involved.

In the action it’s Division One North once again that is proving the hardest to predict as the leaders: Drumchapel Glasgow II and Barrow II are not eligible for promotion which leaves Halton, Derwent and Buxton Uxbridge fighting it out for the vital play-off spots come the end of the season.

In Division One South, West and North, Ormesby hold an impressive four point lead over both Kingfisher and Sportingbet Guernsey as they hope to bounce back to the Premier Division at their first attempt. The Middlesborough-based club boosted their chances by retaining their unbeaten record over the weekend.

While in Division One South, BATTS (with a maximum 16pts out of 16) lead York Gardens by three points following four impressive victories over the weekend.
