Liam Pitchford who has been consistently at the top of his game this year, including claiming some impressive international scalps has caused another upset, this time against Danny Reed, claiming his semi-final spot in 4 straight ends.

Facing Pitchford will be Paul Drinkhall who had a close confrontation with Tim Yarnall, a lot closer than many would have expected, Drinkhall closing the deal 11-9 in the fifth.

After Matt Wares fantastic performances yesterday, he only had one game left in him. Taking the first from the his higher ranked opponent Gavin Evans, he then faltered on the second, losing it 11-2 before regaining composure and pushing Evans, but it was just a bit too much for Ware.

The final semi-final spot went to the winner of the Andrew Baggaley, Chris Doran battle. Aiming to make it three consecutive years in the final, Baggaley came out victorious in 4 straight sets. Doran playing with rather bent arms seemingly has untapped potential when it comes to power, if he can make the most of his “large levers” then he has a lot potential to cause more upsets in the future.
