Gold for English Schools’ Boys

The England boys’ team (Hugo Pang, Tom Jarvis, Josh Bennett and Jamie Dignum) cruised through the opposition from Guernsey, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Scotland and Wales to take gold in style at the British Primary Schools’ Championships held at the Welsh National Sport Centre, Cardiff on the weekend of 1st/3rd April 2011.  Only the team from Scotland came close but were defeated 7-3 by the England team.

The young girls’ team (Amy Blagbrough, Denise Payet, Kate Cheer and Imogen Scarles) showed real fighting spirit and were only piped to the post 7-3 by Ireland and 6-4 by Wales leaving them with the bronze medal after 10-0 wins over Scotland and Guernsey.

In the Individual competition, it was players from Scotland and Wales who took top honours.  However, Hugo Pang (silver) and Tom Jarvis (bronze) finished in medal places.
