It’s UK Coaching Week, this year focused around ‘The Great Coaching Comeback’!
UK Coaching, the organisation behind the week, say that: “Great coaches are key to the nation’s recovery post lockdown, by transforming lives and inspiring communities through sport and physical activity.
“We want to celebrate great coaching and help the nation’s three million coaches share their voice, be heard, and generate the investment they need to reinvent, recover and return to coaching.”
Here are some current offers, resources and courses that will benefit coaches, and add to the Great Coaching Comeback!
Coach Licence offer
All current licenced coaches will receive an additional six months on top of their Coach Licence. If you have a Coach Licence then we will add an additional six months (you don’t need to do anything!)
Those who purchase a licence before the end of September then will also get an additional six months on top of your licence. This offer will begin in July and will expire at the end of September.

Disability Course
We’ve launched a FREE disability awareness online training module for the sport’s workforce and volunteers, and sign-ups are now open.
Disability awareness training in the past has been delivered on a face-to-face course and this option will still be available to clubs in the future but with the rise in availability and improved access to online learning, the course has been moved online.
To support the return of table tennis, the course will provide you with information to support coaches to feel more confident working with Disabled People in a table tennis setting by making your sessions more accessible, showing you ways of communicating with players and how to meet their individual needs.
Everything is table tennis specific and includes sections on coaching, classification, competitions and communication. The course is aimed at the following organisations/people:
- Clubs, leagues and counties
- Volunteers within clubs, leagues, counties and regions
- Coaches
Coaching Courses
We have begun advertising our Level 1 Session Coach courses, which have been filling up quickly! Click here to see the latest courses available.
We still have a number of courses to add to the system in the coming weeks which will be spread throughout England.
Mentor Scheme
The Coach Mentor Scheme offers a chance to connect with expert table tennis coaches who have a solid background in developing players right to the top of our sport in the UK.
They all offer a specialist set of skills, which coaches can tap into, but all of these mentors have a significant amount of experience and a holistic approach to their coaching.
Hear from one of our mentors, Stephen Gertsen below, and click here for more information on the Coach Mentor Scheme.
