The first rounds of the Senior British League (Championship division and below) and the Cadet County Championship have been cancelled under the terms of the Table Tennis England coronavirus cancellation policy for national events and leagues.
Both events were due to be held on September 26 but, as per the policy, have been cancelled six weeks in advance as the current restrictions do not allow them to take place safely.
The County Championships Committee is working proactively with Counties to format leagues in such sizes that they can be concluded on fewer dates, and towards the back end of the 2020/21 calendar – consequently it is hoped the loss of the first Cadet round will not impact unduly on activity.
A revised format for SBL remains pending until such time as a ‘go’ date can be confirmed. Teams and host venues will be advised directly regarding any further developments.
