Top seed, 20 year-old Ma Long from Lioning, the current World no. two won his sixteenth ITTF Pro Tour title with a surprisingly straight-forward victory over countryman and 2008 Olympic Mens Singles Champion Ma Lin.
Rallies were fast and furious as the two most feared forehands in World table tennis went head-to-head, but, it was the very composed Ma Long who got his nose in front. He won the first game 11-9 and from then on he always looked the more likely winner.
The most consistent performer throughout all three days of the Mens Singles, Ma Long had not been extended to a seventh game on a single occasion, and he ran out a very deserving 11-9, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8 winner.
