Harry Yip was the only English competitor at the Hong Kong Junior & Cadet Open.

He performed in singles and doubles in both age groups and also in the Cadet Boys’ Team event as part of an England-Yemen combination.

Yip did not manage to pick up any victories, although he came close in the Cadey Boy’s Singles group stage against Wong Yiu Man of the host nation, when he led 2-1 and lost the fourth game 14-12 before going down in the decider.
