Congratulations to Bob Gale, President of Kendal & District Table Tennis League, who was recently awarded the Table Tennis England North West Contribution to Table Tennis Award, at the Kendal League Cup & Presentation evening.

For over 50 years, Robert has worked hard for Table Tennis locally, holding key positions at Club, League and County levels for most of those years. As a Club and League President he faithfully attends meetings, tournaments and presentations, giving advice and supporting younger members of the league.
Details of his extensive service within Cumbria are as follows:
- President Kendal and District Table Tennis League 1995 to date.
- President Natland and Oxenholme Table Tennis Club 2018 to date.
- Received ETTA Leslie Forrest Award 1999.
- ETTA qualified Coach, Umpire and Tournament Organiser.
- Chairman Barrow and District Table Tennis League 1966 to 1973.
- Chairman Cumbria Table Tennis Association 1970 to 1990.
- National Councillor 1978 to 1980.
- President Cumbria Table Tennis Association 1990 to 1999.
- Chairman Kendal and District Table Tennis League 1975 to 1995.
- During two years of this Chairmanship, in the absence of any volunteer, Robert also took the role of Honorary Secretary, to ensure that the League continued to function effectively.
- Founder member of Natland and Oxenholme Table Tennis Club, 1978.
- Chairman NOTTC 1978 to 2000.
- Vice President NOTTC 2000 to 2018.
