The Grand Prix season reaches a climax at the traditional event in London this weekend, with the overall champions to be crowned alongside the event winners.
Karina Le Fevre has already banked enough points to retain the overall Women’s Singles title, but there are plenty of other issues still to be decided.
Defending champion Chris Doran heads the standings in the Men’s Singles, but has not entered and can still be caught by Mike O’Driscoll. Only victory will do for O’Driscoll – but if he does pull it off, he would claim the overall trophy by just half a point.
If it goes with seeding, O’Driscoll will get to the final where he would have to beat the only player ranked above him, Scotland’s Gavin Rumgay.
The fight for second place in the Women’s Singles sees only seven points separating Mollie Patterson, Emily Bolton and Yolanda King, who are all in the field to battle it out.
There are some unknown quantities in the draw, though, with top seeding going to Spain’s Melinda Ciurcui, who won this event in 2016. She has been given a dummy rating, as have two Dutch players in the fourth and fifth seeding slots.
Lower down, Patterson, Bolton and King are also only separated by 17 points in Band 1, where Bolton and Patterson have been drawn in the same group.
It promises to be a busy and exciting event across the board as the titles are decided – players must have featured in four full Grand Prix events this season to qualify for overall prizemoney in each category.
